Gary Hoffman Ltd goes GREEN!!!. Climate change is a reality we are all facing on a daily basis and requires urgent action. As a responsible business we believe we should be leading the way, working hard to reduce and offset our carbon footprint (or emissions).

We Have:-
· Internally put in place a policy to reduce, re-use and recycle and finally offset any CO2 we cannot help
  but produce.

As a company:-
· Use energy efficient light bulbs.
· Actively promote no computers, TV’s, electrical equipment left on standby.
· Recycle all paper waste.
· Only purchase recycled and ethically sourced paper materials where possible.
· Protecting the environment in which we live and work is the core of our business values and we
  believe in the current climate, that this is the only way in which to work responsibly.

Efficient Lighting:-
· The carbon impact of electricity depends on two things: how it is generated and how much is used!
· If a country generates most of its electricity using dirty fossil fuels, such as coal, it will emit a high
  volume of CO2 per unit of electricity. If it uses mostly renewable sources, such as wind and hydro, it
  will emit a low volume. This can be referred to as the electricity’s ‘carbon intensity’. Using efficient
  lightbulbs reduces electricity use wherever they are installed and produces significantly lower CO2
  emissions.

Goals for 2010:-
· We will reduce paper usage by 30% by introducing new business processes and electronic
  communication.
· We will reduce electricity consumption by 30%.
· We will continue to manage the disposal of all waste with an aim to reach 90% of all materials to be
  recycled.
· We will expand our use of environmentally friendly products wherever possible.
· We will source paper and stationery materials from environmentally friendly resources wherever
  possible. 

Achieved so far:-
· Policy to offset carbon footprints from experiences and business energy use in place.
· Thermostat turned down by 1° to help conserve energy.
· Saving electricity through a switch off policy and a series of timer plugs.
· Currently recycling 90% of our waste.
· Eco-friendly cleaning products used.
